Quick Overview

Die Oog is ’n bonatuurlike riller gemeng met ’n goeie dosis tongin-die-kies humor, ’n tikkie geskiedenis, ’n titseltjie romanse, ’n knippie filosofie en ’n sterk geur van misterie … ’n donker avontuurverhaal vol goedige, doodernstige draakstekery.

______

Die Oog is a supernatural thriller spiced up with a dash of history, a little bit of romance and a side plate of philosophy. It’s flavoured with an undercurrent of mystery and served with a darkly comic turn.

Donkerstroom holds many secrets. The daily routines of this isolated village include covert rituals which began with the vow a clan of starving trekkers made many moons ago … and soon they might reap the whirlwind of the dark force below the waters of the Dark Spring.

The underlying tensions in the lost valley are driven to a fever pitch when three water inspectors from Gauteng are blown off course during a freak storm. When his colleague disappears, Stefan the scientist wants nothing more than to flee. However, he’s restrained by his firestarter of an assistant, Zadie, whose curiosity gets the better of her. Or is it perhaps that the lovely Ismérie and the melancholy Lorelei have bedevilled Stefan’s usually coolheaded rationalism, drawing him ever deeper into this strange society …
